Today a local councilor, the one who got the most first round votes for Mayor in the 2019 election outed himself as a non-believer in the 9/11 tale especially WTC7 & the Pentagon.
I last visited Vegas in February 2013 after marrying Judith after 16 years together. Her cousin worked at the Bellagio. We stayed at the Paris Hotel. I had previously visited Vegas when the law firm I worked with took us there for two days in August of '92. We were put up at Excalibur. Amusingly Soldier of Fortune had a convention in Vegas at same time as did some Evangelical churches. I could never live in heat. Sacramento I left at 30 due to heat.
The Pleb class I expect is significantly larger than those in the 5% suspect. Likely anyone outside the 1%. Market corrections are going to wipe out considerable wealth from sophisticated investors.
"Just when I thought I was lost, my dungeon shook and my chains fell off.". Collapse of a fake anti-wealth system is an Earthquake. Ruins will remain and people living amidst them. As in all catastrophic events some people are not going to do badly and others will do far worse. Community built off the crash hopefully can mitigate some of the harm. Perhaps Macrobiotics will become popular-eating food in season from local food as Strawberries from Ecuador no longer ship to El Norte. John Michael Greer aka the Arch Druid has written in his blog and his books on collapse.
I imagine too many variables in play with climate and food stuffs. Few nations are food self sufficient. Time it takes to replace export crops for food crops, soil issues, fertilizer, then getting this one or two good crops to even a Farmer's Market cd be challenging. Possibly greenhouses or permaculture or aquaculture can play a role.
Detroit repurposed some run down urban space for this and last I looked prior to Pandemic had success.
In 2014, I moved to KY from Vegas, because I knew water was running out and the illegals were coming. The one-bedroom in Vegas that used to cost me $740 is now going for $1.7k.
Agricultural soil in the US is becoming useless; not that it has ever been much good.
For relative food-independence, one must live off the map of needs at least 15 people armed to the teeth, plus perimeter protection.
Large cities will be gone soon, starting in the North. I am no prophet in this case; it's simply logical. Without energy, 98-99% of the North is not going to be able to survive.
The problem with this country is that potable water is not easy to come by, and isolated places suck, when it comes to the climate.
They will succeed with the terminally frightened and have a struggle on their hands with everyone else.
Many places in America are ruled by the fearful, masked, unfit looking people - grocery stores, malls, medical facilities. Many neighborhoods are shuttered, deathly quiet.
At the parks and natural areas people are happy to be outdoors and pleased to be exercising, seeking out company.
Interesting times. At least the two groups are eminently recognizable without uniforms.
Internet retail is a joke. They might have succeeded in the last few years of getting it a few % points higher of total retail trade but I suspect it's trending down right now. About 6-7% mostly but what they don't tell you about that is that it's mostly Amazon's sales (~60%) leaving everyone else to fight over about 3% of the total retail trade. It's a joke.
A British comedian once (just a few years ago) said that you could do anything in NZ and because it was so far away nobody would notice. That's certainly one of the problems, we look like a test tube to the demented. But yes it's not the only problem.

California is doomed to divide. Too large. Unsustainable.

The problem is about being completely powerless. Some people might succumb to fear or even fall into despair because of that.
As long as the monsters control the global money flow, people are captives...

The monsters' goal of 95% loss of humanity might prove to be a good estimate, even if the survivors are not going to be cyborg zombies.
The Tropics will be definitely popular because of the climate and the availability of free food. :)

Here is a pretty good summary:

Increasingly common. Newshub won't even let you on to their site unless you're doing so from a NZ IP address.
