John Fogerty (basically he was CCR) was superb for about 6 years or so. His manager did very well out of it and built a large building in San Francisco from the proceeds which was apparently locally referred to as the House of Creedence. He also played havoc with the guys relationships and there's a fair bit of litigation involved, mostly won by Forgerty.
