From what I have seen, employer sponsored health events including monitoring devices and apps such as Fitbits are quite popular. I'm not sure how popular the automobile insurance "safe driver" monitoring apps are, but you get a discount, so I imagine they are. My mother-in-law participates for reduced rates, but what's funny is she doesn't drive her own car. My wife drives her around in it paying no heed to the monitoring criteria.
