At the park just now an acquaintance, when I said that I would look at the New Year fireworks said that it would be a shoulder to shoulder Covid spreading event.
(I actually can see the fireworks from outside my place, so I won't be "going", but not for fear of Cov.)
His proudly boosted wife with high up job in Department of Death, unfortunately doesn't look too well.
They are under a power that they permit to control them, and to which they think that I am also.
Berdyaev is a very interesting philosopher from a very interesting time. And before he converted to Russian Orthodoxy (quite different than the dogmatic Orthodoxy) he was a Marxist. His writing on the Russian revolution is what hooked me.
