"Or they say JFK Jr. hypocrite extraordinaire is the new anointed leader and all must support him. BAH"

I assume you mean RFK Jr. as he's the only one who the CIA hasn't yet murdered.

Joel, thank you for catching my typo. I write in haste and proof read rarely. Bad habit you correctly call my attention to.

As a fired tenured full professor (fired by USC for speaking out on Covid) calling out errors is a habit I find difficult to break!

What subject did you teach? I considered law school at USC but thought better of the career track. As an undergrad I thought briefly as well of a Ph.D track in Political Science but moved to SF and got into the Central American solidarity movements instead, then the opposition to Gulf War I and II, too much fun.

I've been a health economist for over four decades. So I was at the crossroads of understanding the medical, health care and economic effects of the lockdowns and vaxxxes from Day 1. I cut my teeth criticizing Fauci on HIV/AIDS in the '80s so I knew anything he said about Covid was a lie from the beginning.

Here's what I wrote publicly in 2020 when I still believed that "scienceTM" meant something (and a year before USC put me on a cruise ship destined for the entrance to SF bay)!

I can easily see the threat you posed to the Grand Narrative. Masks are back in force, vaccine propaganda still strong, now we have seasonal something or other to instill fear, and I see people to this hour driving masked, walking masked, fully vaccinated and accepting that now they have Covid and the neighbor never got ill but rationalizing the sickness away refusing to connect dots. Do you think Joel the propaganda out of China once more will motivate a repeat of the idiocy of Covid given the massive money flows in favor of a repeat?

I've quit predicting anything since they control so many levers of power, media and culture (I still wonder why substack isn't totally controlled yet but there are inevitable signs that its going that way as it gains popularity). Is it going to be more wars? CBDC? monkeypox? Covid-24 (very likely in an election year)? Marberg? Directed energy weapons? graphene nanoparticles? But one way or another we will all be happy and own nothing by 2030! If we're still around.

For the APEC convention the street sweeps arose to save the image from truth. Fences just came down the other day. We used to have downtown filled with street camps or loiters just like the good ole Tenderloin 20 years ago but now each neighborhood has it's share. Most folks expect the unhoused to return. City never cared. There are "rumors" impossible to verify that the clearances evicted people and sent them out of town. I have not wandered down the hill to see. I mainly spend my time walking down to the Wharf or into the Marina. Not very many transients even before APEC. Now and then I walk downhill on Taylor which takes me through the Tenderloin. Taylor is a half block from my apartment. Once APEC hit town the Tenderloin cleaned up a tad. I have a wicked wit and in conversation with some very elite very liberal folks a couple years ago listened to the laments and smiling said I have a solution. Curious the husband of the couple asked me what I was thinking. Smiling broadly I said the key is get a large cruise ship and house homeless. Then I said you go a few miles off the coast and scuttle the ship. Non-plussed for a few seconds he caught my wit. I then explained during the Vietnam War some wits said the only solution to end the war was to put all the friendlies on ships and sink the ships. :)

I've met a few. And the forests there train ecologists but there are too many bad ones. The most famous one being Bob Brown but despite all the good work that he has done I'm pretty sure he supported transgender politics. The Australian Green Party certainly does.

Am wondering at a future run for one of the left parties maybe here in NZ though rather than Australia (in which case I'll need to dump NZ citizenship)

Elections are inherently fraud. Ratification of power elites no matter who is in I think as the political river does not it's dig own channel but remains safely twixt the banks of acceptable discourse. A splash here, a bit of river making a puddle now and then.
