Unfortunately these days I suspect wealth is not only aligned with political power, it is political power. Perhaps it has always been thus, the wealth of Monarchs was usurped by the likes of Rothschilds and their underlings like the Rockefellers, Morgan's. These underlings also have underlings of their own like Gates, Soros, and Schwab, underlings who produce managerial elite leaders for their central bank controlled pseudo-States; to run NGO propaganda entities; to be astroturfed to run mega-corporations or media networks etc.
Quite a few people around here feel good about calling themselves self employed, but they only ever contract to the govmint.
( I'm not referring to tradesmen who generally really are self employed.)
