Thank you Stegiel, I'm immensely grateful for this post. 1. "Refresher" on this bloody period of the French history was led to by my contemplating and comparing Hitler to Napoleon (tbh its way over my cognition but I can't help myself) although it seems I can comprehend what I'm reading just fine, it is thinking of those events in the context of wider human history that does "my head in" (still, I enjoy the mental gymnastics). 2. I absolutely had no idea of any of what you have presented here and, I'm absolutely sure that if I had ever came across it in my past ( more serious studying times) I would have remembered.

So this is why I'm so happy about this post. Bonus: contemplating how it corresponds with our current circumstances. Thank you 😊

Nesta Webster can be found compleat in the Internet Archives. Churchill read her as well.

Utopian thought in power is brutal like Hobbes though the mailed hand extended has a face masked like the Savior

Thank you. Like all exceptional humans, Churchill too wasn't what we've been presented with as. Glorification for political (and other) purposes has left us with a seriously distorted view of our own history. Changes and falsifications of truth now rendering themselves very useful as part of our (very fast becoming) Orwellian prophesy. Thank you for your time I greatly appreciate it..

Winston was a made man and an arch-colonialist. He was not though part of the inner circles of power but the outer. The inner circle can be found here: https://www.gardenofgreatwork.org/post/book-review-the-anglo-american-establishment-by-carroll-quigley
