"Bloy's "Dieu se retire" is more accurate than Nietzsche's apodictic "God is dead". Bloy adds: "It is doubtless that if God suddenly withdrew his blessing the simple stone, both granite and pebble, would disintegrate and crumble to dust – where would modern society be then?"
Friends we are here. God does bless us but we in our metaphysical freedom deny God exists. Our turn of thought is No God, No Master, ME, I AM. The bloody 19th, 20th, and so far 21st century - especially after COVID demonstrate this small truth. Oligarchs prance proudly. Anatole France wittly observed to steal a loaf of bread or sleep rough under a bridge is forbidden to rich and poor alike. Look around and think, see with open heart and open eyes. Militarism, MARS, rules and rides roughshod over all. Good Union labor prospers in warfare spending though not as much as the Cannon Kings who give them a few drops of water. And yet we admire the Cannon Kings and the Public Policy they bring. To make the people happy lash them with guns said Goya and he was right.
In our schools OBEDIENCE training is foremost. Thinking is reduced to memorization and check writing at test time. Under Covid some doctors said NO but 90% said yes. Why? I am not a doctor. I am not an herbalist. I am a thinking reed who rants. Yet even as wretched a soul as mine decided I need no PCR test. I need no vaccine. F-K off man. My Kaiser doctor told me she would not give me a vaccine exemption when I asked from curiosity. I did not ask her if she chose to inject to keep her job, nor did I enquire if she had read anything other than lies. I needed no exemption and I knew she was only literate by rote.
This is our fate. Each must choose. God or Man. I, who have less faith in credal observance than a gnat, in going through the story of how this epoch of insanity arose, reading history, philosophers, folktales, listening to sermons and anti-sermons, extremely secular since childhood, I accept that there is a difference between Right Reason and all too human reason. No man is good enough to be Master and Dominator. Every drop of blood on the soil from war seeds monsters. We are murdered so other men can prosper. And worse we justify it.
So then we now have votes. Subjects are permitted to chose, or at least register an opinion who the figurehead for mass murder will be. This permits excesses no Monarch could dream. Monarchs sanction the game since they benefit from it as much as a Tycoon in one way, and in other way burdened with upholding the reputation of the realm. A Tycoon like Bill Gates pervert and mass murderer unscathed. This is our world. A Dominator culture. Killers create the so-called civilizations and killers finance what laughing is called high culture. The museum is fed, but not the mother of children and of course we do shed a tiny tiny tiny tear if the contrast comes to mind. But the mother does not paint, sing, perform mime. Her children if they survive can go to war and find a place in Dominator culture. Or then see it like this - Gibbon who wrote a majestic work The Rise and Fall of the Roman Empire was feted at a party in 1781` and Prince William Henry, Duke of Gloucester, encounters him “Always scribble scribble scribble eh Mr Gibbon?”
[First published in Russian by Russkaya Idea (July 6, 2020), the following essay by Svetlana Lourié addresses, among other topics, geopolitics, color revolutions, technology, and the question of civilization and its foundations. Lourié sharply critiques Chinese (and Russian) policies as they relate to artificial intelligence and allied new technologies. Her views on the current American disorders transcend the usual discourse centering narrowly on ‘national interests’. She sees the survival of an identifiable American civilization as something of independent value, even as she acknowledges that the United States’ competitive stance vis-a-vis Russia appears to be hardwired within the international system.
Lourié is by no means uncritical toward the current American president. Yet she also holds that, for some significant portion of the American public, Donald Trump represents what they believe is their best chance at preserving their traditional understanding of what it means to be a person, what it means to be an American. In sociological terms, this strikes us as sound. Whether or not, behind that symbolic representation, there also stands anything of substance is subject to debate. Let us hope that here, as in other fateful questions raised by Lourié, alternative futures remain a possibility. – the Editors]
The category of the Project has been introduced into our daily lives. The very thoughts and feelings of the human person have been turned into a Project. It is happening in Russia and America. It is happening in philosophy and science. It’s also happening in geopolitics.
This is not a global conspiracy. It is a global trend. Still, one can’t help wondering whether or not the Grand Designer behind it isn’t the same one that the American hieromonk, Fr. Serafim Rose, was referring to back in the early 1980s when he wrote: “It is later than you think.”
It was through geopolitics that I first came to my understanding of the category of the “project,” so I will begin my analysis at the time, back in the late 1980s, early 1990s, when I first started examining geopolitical issues. Back then I was not yet burdened by much in the way of theoretical baggage – my thinking was still ‘naïve’ in that respect ― but naiveté is a condition with both plusses and minuses. At that time I had two sources of information about how politics is done.
First, because fate had brought me to Yerevan, I was able to observe closely what was happening in Armenia on the eve of the collapse of the USSR and also immediately after that collapse. My methodology involved close reading of the media and paying attention to street gossip and the like (as an ethno-psychologist, I attached great importance to the latter).
Second, at this same time I was working on my Ph.D. dissertation, “The Russian and British Empires in the Near and Middle East in the 19th and Early 20th Centuries: Ideology and Practice,” which gave me the opportunity to survey some of the history of Russian-English-German rivalry, a rivalry whose circumstances and logic underwent various changes over time. These great powers increasingly resorted to, if I may put it this way, the ‘functional’ use of certain territories. Some countries were made use of by one of the powers as a buffer against its rival, as a means of getting that rival bogged down. Often it was considered beneficial for the population of one of these buffer countries to be reduced to a state of political, cultural and psychological prostration. There were also ethnic groups whose aggressive qualities were encouraged, so that the great powers could better make use of them in their struggles against their rivals. Sometimes they found it beneficial to encourage the growth of national pride in a given country, so as to facilitate manipulating it into undertaking foreign adventures which, though otherwise counterproductive for the country in question, would kick start political processes useful for the outside power.
I am not making any judgments at this point, I am simply pointing out that, at least since the end of the 19th century, geo-political players have concerned themselves with the mental characteristics of the territories in which they play their geopolitical games. The big powers knew that there exists a certain gamut of mental conditions that can be encouraged, and these powers did, in fact ― sometimes more successfully, sometimes less successfully – foster the creation of just such ‘mental states.’ As will be seen below, what we are discussing here also relates to the origins of “color revolutions.”
And now with our most recent color revolution of dare I smirk and say “WHITENESS” the once and now future replicant President arrogantly wants to sweep the geopolitical chessboard and through different wars Make America Great Again. America, not planet Earth which exists to only serve America tirelessly, and America only exists to serve Greater Zionism and Big Pharma profits both under the thumb of Mammon.
For Gabriel Marcel, acceptance of abortion is the sign of an affluent society choking on its own material comfort. Having abandoned a contemplative approach to existence, a society defined by its growing material possessions ends up considering life itself an irritable joke. The destruction of the innocent becomes a casual gesture. He writes:
This generalized comfort, with its appurtenances, such as standardized amusements, now seems the only way to make life tolerable. Life is no longer considered a divine gift; it is just a “dirty joke.” The existence of a widely diffused pessimism, at the level of the sneer and the oath rather than that of sighs and weeping, seems to me a fundamental given fact about contemporary humanity. It is in the perspective of this widely diffused pessimism, a sort of physical nausea at life, that we ought to consider such a serious and significant contemporary fact as the prevalence of abortion.
Beyond the anguish of an individual drama, the practice of abortion reflects the despair of a society that sees no particular significance in its future, certainly not in its children.
The celebrated nausea of the existentialist is not, for Marcel, a universal human experience of dread before the absurdity of existence; it is the symptom of a society that has falsely defined itself by its technological prowess. Since existence is no longer perceived as a gift, people need no longer cherish this gift through sacrificial love. The boredom quickly turns lethal.
Welcome to Century 21. No God, ONLY MASTER. And we like it, like it yes we do, we like it. So we vote.

Before bibles, there were still good and bad people. That's all I have ever needed to know.
Another bloody word salad. Too much time on your hands and too idle to do anything with it. Churches are just status symbols; the people in them have no self value, and the Truth is there's no truth beyond the reason we are all here. And that reason is our own selfish way forward in the world...all action is selfish action. A few acknowledge that Truth most deny it.
