A cool two million bucks...basics only now...., don't get fancy,..... to run for a national elected office, ...in amerika...minimum.

Politicians seldom use much of their own money but they never feel obligated to any one in particular whose money they do use , are forced by election laws and rules they have to follow is the only way they can use it, can't have any left over , plus everyone is watching . Just ask one, they can all explain it to you so you can see for yourself just how straight up they are. You can actually find honest ones in there, it ain't funny though, they can't get anything done, the rest of them are afraid of the honest .ones and vice versa ..routine bullshit, great acting, boom boom...gangster capitalism rose right the fuck up finally, hasn't it?

Donald Trump got elected president of the USA. All it is is embarassing, I am still not used to that, as weird as we have been since I been on this planet, that has to be the singular dumbest thing we have done to ourselves, we proved to the world we really are idiots and we are still demonstrating it.

If it wasn't so serious, I don't know what the fuck it would be...frightening? Hilarious? In there somewhere?

The toad Rove behind DeSantis? Ha ha! Of course. We're in a new season of Game of Thrones.

And Bowie's lyrics never sounded so relevant. Thanks for that, Bruce. BTW I keep loving your music references...

Navyo the funny thing is Substack is a superior Facebook in some respects, at least for my style of writing. Thanks for encouraging me to grow.

You're welcome, my friend. As for a superior FB, I wouldn't even class them in the same category. FB = LifeLog = NSA. Substack = long form essays and currently censorship-free. But I would assume CIA/NSA/AI are scanning all Substack posts for profiling. Imagine that!!

Good point about the mannequins.

I notice how what I wear in my environs doesn't translate well elsewhere. I am forced to see myself through others' eyes.

Carlyle had his philosophy of clothing. Sartor Resartus: The Life and Opinions of Herr Teufelsdröckh in Three Books is an 1831 novel by the Scottish essayist, historian and philosopher Thomas Carlyle, first published as a serial in Fraser's Magazine in November 1833 – August 1834. The novel purports to be a commentary on the thought and early life of a German philosopher called Diogenes Teufelsdröckh (which translates as 'God-born Devil's-dung'),author of a tome entitled Clothes: Their Origin and Influence. Teufelsdröckh's Transcendentalist musings are mulled over by a sceptical English Reviewer (referred to as Editor) who also provides fragmentary biographical material on the philosopher. The work is, in part, a parody of Hegel, and of German Idealism more generally.

As a Libertarian I have no dog in the fight

Governor DeSantis is not perfect by any means. The Democrats put up a coke addict scumbag the first time that Ron ran and the global warming climate change lunatic Crist next.

I judge him by how he governs.

Personally I don't think that he would be a serious contender especially given that he's weak on foreign policy in the event of his hat being tossed into the ring

Can anyone govern if not permitted? One place holder after another as Captain of the sinking ship of freedom.

Desantis has been a good governor. When he was running for office he promised to serve his entire term. I believe that he is good for his word. The Florida books are in the black by a large number. He ended the mask mandates. He protected employees from being forced to have the mystery substance injected into their body to allegedly prevent a disease that has a 99.9percent survival rate. He has been a wokesters worse nightmare.

I don't care who supports him. Nobody controls him.

I don't want him to throw his hat into the ring. Florida needs him where he is.

Karl Rove and Jeb think he is a contender. GMO Gates does too. Personally releasing GMO mosquitoes strikes me as ungood but not until later double plus ungood. I think donors mid level and above want him to stay until Trump is out of the picture. I too as a non partisan independent fearful of men who listen to Gates and set free GMO mosquitoes hope so too.
