We know ourselves too in Life reduced to a servant and a screen and slavish obedience to the State in entangled laws from fishing to driving to paying sales tax. No use in wonderin’ why this techtopia triumphs, clearly a social utility like writing in contrast to memorization. A social utility creating STUPIDITY. Recall the slogan Silence Equals Death regarding AIDS? What about our rulers? Are we governed by Omerta? Nyerere (https://www.britannica.com/biography/Julius-Nyerere) understood education as a tool for liberating both an individual and the society; a tool which should liberate an individual socially, economically, psychologically, culturally, physically, intellectually and spiritually. Further, education should add value to learners through effective transformation that lead to the growth of society and development of a nation.
