Twelve years dropping in and out of college, hustling financial aid, earning by gig jobs, and lastly two degrees earned and two degrees not as one only can have two BA degrees as I understood it then.

The politics of the public is the visible and felt living politics of men. Men who change, as wood is added or subtracted from the flames. So much fuel is on the fire now the heat burns like jet fuel in the Twin Towers. Covid the indispensable tool for tyranny touched the rabid Reactionary, Liberals, Libertarians, Liberty lovers and Lunatic Leftists equally. This moment we occupy in transition to a new polity has much of the old within it still. We have formalities of law, of good governance, hollow and painted like the nesting Matryoshka dolls. We have habits and customs dating, our heart, from a time when living in the Atomic Age thought we were free.

The Communist Police State hides inside those dolls growing stronger daily. Each day passing more freedom is cut away. Covid is talismanic. Protection by injection. Salvation in boosters. Force all living to inject or metaphorically become exiled. Truckers supply food to our world. As do jets and trains. The breakdowns are advancing. Machines can do only so much. Revolt in winter is left to a spasm of Marxist thought “Truckers of the world unite!”

Agamben suggests we need Messianic strength to free ourselves from the Brave New World.
