Lazy boy that I am dwelling in San Francisco By The Sea, toying with speculative fiction and living a different Bohemian life for 35 years in the home to hustle, no money, less friends, now some strange future possibly without a grave and possibly reduced profitable parts like a used car I wonder how much more tragic life is to be 3 years after Covid-19. According to the U.S. Census, Millennials have become the largest living generation in 2019.  By 2050, the Pew Research Center projects about 25 million more Millennials than any preceding generation. 

Millennials' notable aspects are that they are more racially diverse, more sensitive to racial discrimination, and more likely to back Democrats.  Unlike the Greatest Generation in their youth a century ago, a large percentage of Millennials come from broken homes.  On the whole, they have not been raised to rely on the stable influences of family, community, and the church.

According to Pew, they are 43 percent non-white and stand out for their liberal views.  In a 2018 survey, 52 percent of millennials said racism was the main reason black people could not get ahead, while 79 percent believed immigration strengthened the country. 

They also are bamboozled and bombarded by propaganda. And trapped-The Fallen Caryatid first appeared as a small, crouching woman at the top of the left pilaster of The Gates of Hell. About 1881 Rodin enlarged the figure and added a stone. And today a Rodin and his new Gates might add a Fauci.

MENTICIDE: the systematic effort to undermine and destroy a person's values and beliefs. Alone, confused and battered by waves of terror, a population under an attack of menticide descends into a hopeless and vulnerable state. The never-ending stream of propaganda turns minds once capable of rational thought into playhouses of irrational forces and with chaos swirling around them, and within them, the masses crave a return to a more ordered world. The would-be totalitarians can now take the decisive step, they can offer a way out and a return to order in a world that seems to be moving rapidly in the opposite direction. 

But all this come at a price: The masses must give up their freedom and cede control of all aspects of life to the ruling elite. They must relinquish their capacity to be self-reliant individuals who are responsible for their own lives, and become submissive and obedient subjects. The masses, in other words, must descend into the delusions of the totalitarian psychosis.

“In Notes for a Philosophy of Young People,” Del Noce writes that “The final act” of the revolution as the replacement of religion by politics for the sake of man’s liberation “was Marxism, which by realizing itself in history gave rise to its opposite: the society of well-being, which cannot be surpassed through a revolution, but only by restoring the religious dimension and the moral authority of values.” In other words, the affluent society that springs from the corpse of Marxism can’t be outrun horizontally, but only transcended vertically. This is because the affluent society is an apotheosis of materialism. The concrete eclipses all metaphysical, and ultimately moral, considerations.

Evidence of the depth of the affluent society’s self regard is seen in its rediscovery of the Enlightenment notion of mankind having finally entered adulthood. Kant wrote that Enlightenment is “the human being’s emergence from his self-incurred minority,” with minority of course meaning childhood. After the defeat of fascism, Del Noce tells us, it became popular to understand its rise as the political expression of bien pensants unable to intellectually or morally accept historical transformation. It was a dystopia to counter a truer, and more enlightened, mature Leftist utopia.
