The Musk lovers....they sure are ubiquitious. Musk used to disguise. As in those that hunt a creature using it's scent glands. This is commonly done with deer to disguise the smell of the hunter. https://www.outdoorlife.com/tarsal-trickery-spice-up-your-scent-strategy-with-doe-glands/

Early Origins of the Musk family

The surname Musk was first found in Cambridgeshire where "William Muschet held of the Bishop of Ely in 1165. Later, he was Sheriff of Cambridgeshire 2 Richard I., as was William 'filius John Muschet' 6,9,11 and 12 Edward III.

From the Dutch-Flemish, Musch; from the German, Muske; personal name, diminutive of Mus (?). Comp. Muskau; a location name in Prussia, and Muskham (Domesday Book, Muscham), Nottinghamshire.
