I believe technical man is a natural result of animal brains, ours being perhaps a bit overproductive to say the least. The productivity is a natural desire for a basic level of efficiency; for example birds are effiicient in their search for seed, they know where to look for it, and don't waste their time on poor sources. The birds that build the best and strongest nests are the ones that have the best outcomes. That is no less technology than anything man has 'invented'. Grazing animals know where the best grass is....all about prolonging their lives. Birds and grazers of course don't use our words for these things, but it seems they have their own ways to communicate these types of information. Squirrels hoard nuts, rats hoard food. Certain birds will collect objects to impress their potential mates, and build elaborate bowers filled with them, all to get the best mate, ie, be the most 'productive'. Man did not invent technology or productivity, we copied it from other animals or nature. And then, as you say, we did indeed pervert these ideas so that they have become rather the opposite of themselves. . But at their core, technology and productivity are essential to what life is about for all living things.
