They are not letting farmers plan ahead although they are trying. Shit is real, and gonna get way realer. Diesel is projected to be $9-10+ a gallon for the fall..or as an farmer from BC opines: I have livestock...no hay in BC because of the dry year last year...hay is at a premium...been raining so no dry hay being cut so 3 weeks behind now...
Fertilizer went from 500 a ton to 1700 a ton... Fuel for the tractor from 300 to 600...yes we're at almost 9 bucks a gallon here...
I am paying 250 a large bail...two a week so 500 a week...so 2k a month to feed 8 horses...
Waiting for the weather to change and clear so they can make hay instead of silage....
The small dairy farmers around here in the Okanogan are selling out their quotas because they are going in the hole....
