Everybody agrees, they tortured the wrong guy; they went ahead anyway so they could get permission to torture other people," Denbeaux told The Guardian, which on Thursday posted the report along with an articleby Ed Pilkington on Zubaydah's experience.
Then-Vice President Dick Cheney, National Security Adviser Condoleezza Rice, and CIA Director George Tenet gave the green light for U.S. agents to torture Zubaydah—even after learning that the prisoner was cooperative.
During one discussion on the matter, then-Attorney General John Ashcroft reportedly remarked: "Why are we talking about this in the White House? History will not judge this kindly."
Zubaydah was subjected to the interrupted drowning technique known as "waterboarding" 83 times; rape under the pretext of "rectal feeding"; shackling in excruciating "stress positions"; sleep, sensory, and food deprivation; confinement in small boxes; exposure to extreme temperatures and loud music; death threats; beatings and being slammed into walls; sexual and religious humiliation; and other abuses. https://www.zerohedge.com/political/guantanamo-prisoners-graphic-details-us-torture-featured-new-report
Today he would also be forcibly vaccinated.
And are the J-6 prisoners treated more gently? How can we know? Or is it more like why would Congress care?
Message To the American People - Archbishop Carlo Maria Viganò The answer is now clear: throughout the world, in the name of a perverted concept of freedom, we have progressively erased God from society and laws. We have denied that there is an eternal and transcendent principle, valid for all men of all times, to which the laws of States must conform. We have replaced this absolute principle with the arbitrariness of individuals, with the principle that everyone is his own legislator. In the name of this insane freedom – which is license and libertinage – we have allowed the Law of God and the law of nature to be violated, legitimizing the killing of children in the womb, even up to the very moment of birth; the killing of the sick and the elderly in hospital wards; the destruction of the natural family and of Marriage; we have recognized rights to vice and sin, putting the deviations of individuals before the good of society. In short, we have subverted the entire moral order that constitutes the indispensable basis of the laws and social life of a people. Already in the fourth century B.C., Plato wrote these things in his last work the Laws and identified the cause of the Athenian political crisis precisely in the breaking of the divine order – the cosmos – between these eternal principles and human laws.
Another Catholic thinker, Gabriel Marcel, comments that with Europe's decline after the Great War, America's prominent but abusive place in world affairs had to be recognized. He unmasked the ideological component of American foreign policy, especially the self-righteous legitimization of United States imperialism, the privileged position of the dollar, and the shallow, conformist nature of the American values imposed on the lands they dominated. American corporate imperialism fused arrogance and innocence:
“The Anglo-Saxon temperament of America is proud and strong, wholehearted in its likes and its ideas, self-assured and obstinate. It has a singular ineptitude—which strikes all of us, Europeans—to understand the mentality of other peoples, to enter into their psychology (and their physiology), to "size up" their spirit, their passions, their peculiar needs. It tends to believe that what is true for itself, that whatever is the Good for it, should be so for all other nations in the world. And if the latter do not judge the matter the same way, it is they who are mistaken, and America has the right to impose it on them, in their own interest and in the interests of the world. Such a conception leads to the will to conquer the world, under the cover of a narrow moralism, wedded (without its knowledge) to natural instincts of greed and domination.”
Of course Marcel also said if the rigid and insensitive policies of the United States were not opposed by responsible American citizens, then America was preparing itself for the eventual rebellion of oppressed nations.
Quite ironic to think the 50 states are oppressed by being under Federal power but Covid lockups proved the truth. Responsible citizens have faith in law, in courts, in votes, in a process of fairness, and as I have written The basic fact is that the Covid but let us widen it to the Reformist Good Government civil rights movement, by remaining within the law, raises only legal issues. It is logical to make an appeal to the law by legal means. What is not logical is to use legal pleadings to confront raw injustice-as though it were a nonsense that would disappear as soon as it was pointed out. Raw injustice such as Chief Justice John Roberts threatening in his 2011 report, implying that any Congressional effort to constrain the bench by the imposition of such a code (of ethics) would violate the Constitution. In a rather novel interpretation, the fact that the lower courts were bound by the Code of Conduct “reflects a fundamental difference between the Supreme Court and the other federal courts.”
A constitution of government once changed from freedom, can never be restored. Liberty, once lost, is lost forever." -- John Adams
If, as we believe, collective memory is essentially a reconstruction of the past, if it adapts the image of ancient events to the beliefs and spiritual needs of the present, knowledge of what was originally there is secondary, if not outright useless, since the reality of the past is no longer there as an immutable model to which one has to conform.

There are those who would argue that the subversion could not have been as bad as Dies claimed that it was, or the FBI would have discovered it. But the FBI is the agency being referred to when Dies appealed "for the cooperation of Government law enforcement agencies in anti-fifth-column activities." That was precisely the problem. Taking their orders from the chief executive, when it came to subversion of the Communist stripe, the FBI was sitting on its hands. We have since learned, thanks in large part to the analysis of decrypted Soviet cable traffic, that Soviet infiltration of the United States government was actually even worse than Dies thought it was. Here is how historian Thomas Fleming summed it up on page 319 of his 2001 book, The New Dealers' War: FDR and the War within World War II:
There was scarcely a branch of the American government, including the War, Navy, and Justice Departments, that did not have Soviet moles in high places, feeding Moscow information. Wild Bill Donovan's Office of Strategic Services, the forerunner of the CIA, had so many informers in its ranks, it was almost an arm of the NKVD. Donovan's personal assistant, Duncan Chaplin Lee, was a spy. https://www.dcdave.com/article5/070415.htm
