Every instinct I have had, from childhood to now, tells me that Catholic church is not a safe place for this soul. I feigned illness many times to avoid going. In general my distrust of false authority has served me well, in fact, it recently saved my life. I think my cells store the experience of a few religious/state sponsored genocides, and cells are not fooled as easily as intellects.
