Via Daily Mail, March 2024 (emphasis added):
“America suffers a 'startlingly high' number of lab leak incidents at its top virus labs every year, data shows — amid calls for centers to slash the number of experiments carried out on diseases that could spark pandemics.
Official data reveals more than 600 releases of 'controlled' pathogens - which may include anthrax, tuberculosis and Ebola - were recorded in the US over the eight years to 2022, equivalent to 70 to 100 releases every year.
At least two US workers were infected after the 'release events' over the last eight years — including the crippling mosquito-borne virus Chikungunya and the bacterial infection Q fever — although no deaths were reported.”
To add insult to injury, as the cherry on the biomedical terrorism cake, they’ve also been quietly studying the clinical application of kidney-wrecking remdesivir, presumably to finish off any patients who might survive a weaponized Ebola outbreak, per Scientific Reports.
Or maybe I’m a conspiracy theorist and tinkering with a virus with upwards of 50% fatality rate in clandestine government labs devoid of any meaningful oversight is all in the benevolent service of humanity.

Canadian scientists have shown that the deadliest form of the ebola virus could be transmitted by air between species.

Plum Island - Part TwoHeld Together With Duct Tape

I have written many articles about Plum Island, and, have given many radio interviews on the conditions there. It truly saddens me to KNOW that the only reason we heard about the THREE HOUR TOTAL POWER FAILURE AND FAILURE OF ALL THREE BACK UP GENERATORS, is because frightened replacement workers reported the situation to Senator Hillary Clinton. Plum Island is (by Congressional mandate) a Biolevel 5 facility that operates at Level 3 biosafety. It has a diagnostic lab, as well as the Biolevel 3 foreign animal disease research lab. Plum Island is the only lab in the US that works with pathogens that would normally be illegal to work with in the Continental US, nonendemic diseases such as African Swine Fever, Foot and Mouth Disease (all types, including type FMD type which ravaged Taiwan in 1999 and the UK in 2000/2001.) Due to the fact that Plum Island is located off the coast of Long Island, it has island status that allows for the Biolevel 5 designation. In my opinion, the mile and a half distance of Plum Island from the coast of Long Island at Orient Pt. is not far enough from shore to justify work with some of the nonendemic pathogens. Plum Island is also home to migratory and local bird populations as well as other wildlife. Should a nonendemic pathogen get loose from the facility, it would be quite difficult to prevent migratory birds and other animals, including deer which swim back and forth from mainland to Plum Island, from spreading the pathogen. I believe that due to its short distance from the mainland, Plum Island should be taking EXTRA percaution to prevent accidents, not consistantly and routinely violating procedures and taking risks. In August 2002, some of the essential workers responsible for power, biocontainment and water walked off the job in a strike action. One of the major concerns of these workers is the safety isssue, especially in the post 9/11 era. One certainly has to wonder if the total power failure and failure of ALL backup systems was precipated by the strike action which has Plum Island using interim, and not necessarily well-trained personnel. It has been brought to my attention that the strike, for the most part continues, although, I have heard that some striking workers did go back to work, but were then fired. I am trying to get a verification on the firing, i.e. if it did occur. Senator Hillary Clinton had received communication from some interim workers who have been worried and angered by unsafe condtions at the Plum. According to a New York Times article, the news of the total power outage as well as other events that occurred in August, October and November prior to the outage, is summed up by one of the workers (who insisted on anonymity) coming foward and stating in an interview with the Times reporter, "The reason I am coming foward is because what I have seen at the center is really out of hand and something needs to be done about it." Requests by the New York Times to visit the island have been rejected. Dr. Ken Alibek, former top Soviet germ warfare scientist, was quoted as saying "though he knew of power failures at similar facilities, he did not know of a case in which the power and ALL THREE backup generators failed for such a long time." He further said: "If there was any risk of a pathogen in the air, they need to quarantine ALL healthy animals. If they are sure that there was no pathogen in the air, they may not need to quarantine, but, they need to take steps to be sure there was no contagion."

Plum Island Animal Disease Center in New York is being moved to Kansas. The transfer of pathogens used in research is unclear, but no animals or equipment will be transferred. The facility currently employs about 280 people and is expected to have more than 400 people when fully staffed.
US taking jobs from China again.
Would you rather work in a lab dealing with lethal non existent viruses or in a call centre.
Or, as Foghorn suggested - in McDonald's.
Or something else?
Fear? No. High camp comedy. One doubts the hazard but it is great copy. Doubts due mainly to why no dead? So far only Lyme disease appears to be from Plum Island. And this not accidental.
